Update 5/14

HD209458b Lyman-alpha flux

Got a response from Luca - the most accurate number for the Lyman-alpha flux at HD209458b's distance is 4.1x1014 photons/cm2/s (6.7x103 ergs/cm2/s) (Wood et al., table 3). So our flux here is about a factor of 2 lower than what is experienced by HD209458b.

Flares

Flare test running on stampede. Using Run 2 with flare parameters of:

Flare duration 1 hour (0.12 CT)
Flare strength 10x
Flare time (peak) 15.5 CT
Final time 17 CT

Should be about 16 hours to run once I have it working.

Paper

Going through and editing, putting in references. Should be done by the end of the day - finished with introduction and methods.

Ionized wind

Central star mass is 0.4 solar mass

R coordinate is from 0.8 au - 4 au

Inner gas temperature is 2E4 K and the hydrogen atoms are all ionized.

Gas is a mixture of hydrogen and helium with X=0.7 Y=0.3
