Cooling Method Paper

Here is a link to the paper we discussed about a new method for cooling

And here is a link from the guy who told me about it Allard Jan van Marle on AMR and cooling

The first paper is the same paper Sean mentioned way back when - and is a useful approach when the only source term is radiative cooling. But if there are any other source terms that can effect the density or temperature (ionization, cylindrical source terms) this approach would not work. This approach would save some time, but would not be much more accurate then our sophisticated (and somewhat expensive) RungeKutta explicit method which is able to handle any combination of source terms. Neither paper deals with the more complicated issue of integrating cooling (or other) source terms with the reconstruction process - which is something I think we should look at…

I'm glad that the RK 4/5 I put in works (or at least, you made it work :) ). I agree that we should consider alternatives to incorporating the source terms into the algorithm better.
