Meeting Update 06/06/2012 - Eddie

First, see my recent blog post ehansen06052012.

NEQ cooling with a varying mu is steady now, but the shock for Z cooling is still moving. I haven't been able to find the error yet, but I'm still working on it. Here's a temperature movie of both NEQ and Z. NEQ is dashed black line, Z is solid red line. NEQ_Z_temp.gif

I also started reading up on the jet simulations with cooling, so that I know what to do for these upcoming 3D runs. I have Martin's set up that he used for CRL618 and the Blondin paper http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/1990ApJ...360..370B.. Basically, the idea here is to run 3D jets with different cooling strengths. The cooling strength is defined in the aforementioned Blondin paper. For their different runs, they have some cooling curve (similar to DM) and they change the jet density in order to change the cooling strength. My question is…do I want to replicate the stuff in this paper by using their parameters, or should I start with the default parameters that Martin has used in his CRL618 runs?
