Binary simulation

  1. 40 AU separation, 1.5 solar mass primary, 1 solar mass secondary, wind emitted from 10 AU with velocity of 1km/s, which is far below escape velocity. Mass loss rate is 10E-4 solar mass per year. Something like CE or fall back disk formed and there is a numerical shock. The secondary is actually unbinding the envelope.

  1. 40 AU separation, 1.5 solar mass primary, 1 solar mass secondary, wind emitting from 10 AU with velocity of 5km/s, also below escape velocity. Mass loss is 10E-2 solar mass per year, which is rather fast. A steady disk formed around secondary. We can see the boundary of primary impose some non-physical effect and induce inconsistent behaviour.
