Binary simulation

  1. Separation = 40AU, 1.5 solar mass primary + 1 solar mass secondary. wind initial velocity is 1 c.u. = 4km/s (below escaping velocity). wind density is 2.64e-5 c.u. emitted from 10 AU, mass loss rate 10e-5 solar mass per year. Non-accretion for both stars.

The result is very complicated. It seems the gas is on the transition to fall back or the wave pattern will continue until very far away.

I doubted that the unbinding effect win at this separation, so I did another sim.

This is the side view of the same sim.

  1. Separation = 400AU, others unchanged.

Instead of falling back directly, there is acceleration region around the primary star which is not due to unbinding process of the secondary. Which is so weird. And the gas decelerated very fast in a small region, but I don't see significant fall back process.

Both star are not accreting gas.
