     104First looked at 1D models of colliding flows.  The initial velocity field is essentially a heaviside function - and the window used is a cosine window.  While these results are for 1D models - the initial flow is 3D although there could be subtleties associated with the windowing in the y and z direction - though probably not at small wave numbers.
