Documentation Team

This page is the starting off point for pages that have to do with the AstroBEAR wiki.

Pages discuss topics including

  • the way the wiki is organized;
  • areas which would benefit from new or improved editing; and
  • any other ideas which have do with the structure and content of our wiki.

Many of these ideas may be more naturally discussed in the relevant forums. However, it is useful to have a central location which highlights the important aspects of the ongoing process.

Wiki Overview & Outline

The AstroBEAR wiki's primary purpose is to serve as a central collection and distribution point of any and all relevant information relating to the AstroBEAR computational code. As such, the information in the wiki spans a large arena, from computational science, to user-side minutia, to detailed problem-specific physics.

The organization of the wiki is driven primarily by AstroBEAR's users and secondarily by its developers. Our goal is to produce a living document which enables a user to start from scratch with the code (perhaps even from scratch with Linux), and in a reasonable period of time be able to get the code up and running, and perhaps more importantly, understand not only the steps it takes to get there, but the science behind the code's computational algorithms and the varied physical processes they are designed to reproduce.

Outline of the Wiki

TBD, of course.
