2D Rayleigh-Taylor Instability
Problem Background
For background and problem setup see http://www.astro.virginia.edu/VITA/ATHENA/rt.html
This page has information on both 2D and 3D simulations, Hydro and MHD, but the 2D Hydro case is the relevant one here.
Reason for Test
This test is run in order to verify that uniform gravity is working correctly.
Results
AstroBEAR should complete each of the subtests (one for each combination) successfully.
This is determined by the linear growth rate of the instability. A simulation growth rate with a relative error of 1% or less with respect to the analytic growth rate is considered a successful test.
